Partners
Who I work with.
Not a client list, and not a logo wall: a genuine network of businesses and people doing work worth knowing about. Some are current partners in fractional leadership and advisory work. Others are people and firms I trust and happily point clients toward.
Current partner work
Mio
Mio builds automation and IoT solutions that deliver real, measurable efficiency gains across warehousing and logistics in New Zealand and Australia: not a slide deck, an actual system running in an actual warehouse. It's the deepest seat I hold anywhere, fractional CEO and advisory board member, hands directly on strategy, commercial performance and delivery. If there's one place that proves the "build it, don't just talk about it" philosophy running through everything else on this site, it's here.
API Connects
API Connects, Auckland-headquartered and delivering nationwide across New Zealand, works with enterprise and government clients, Health NZ, Stats NZ, Heartland Bank and Port of Tauranga among them, on cloud, data, DevOps and AI-automation projects in some of the most heavily regulated corners of the market. I work alongside the founder and leadership team on the commercial side: sales discipline, customer relationships, delivery performance, and what AI-driven change in the integration market means for how the business competes next.
DataEngine
DataEngine, working NZ-wide, helps organisations, Genesis Energy and Ports of Auckland among them, get real value out of their data, from strategy and architecture through to running modern data platforms day to day. My role is advisory: helping the leadership team sharpen commercial positioning and turn deep technical capability into propositions customers will actually pay for.
Techwondoe
Techwondoe is a digital engineering firm, NZ-based with a team in India, 40-plus teams strong, building and modernising software products across AgriTech, Fintech, HealthTech and more (LIC and Worldline NZ among its clients). I work with the founder as an adviser, on growth, positioning and how a services business built on deep technical delivery adapts as AI changes what a team of engineers can actually produce.
Captivate
Captivate is built around a simple idea: most sales conversations end, and AI should help them amplify instead, turning channel and partner conversations into better leads and clearer insight. Teams in London, Manila and Auckland. As fractional COO, I'm inside the operating detail: how the business runs, delivers and scales as a real commercial operation, not just the product roadmap.
Network
People and firms I work alongside and recommend
Not clients, not employers: people and firms doing work I rate, that I happily point other businesses toward. All leaders and innovators in their own right.
NextSpace
NextSpace, led by Mark Thomas, is Auckland-based with clients globally, turning fragmented BIM, GIS, CAD and operational data into unified "knowledge twins" for organisations managing complex infrastructure, working alongside partners like NVIDIA, SAP, Arup and Deloitte across civil engineering, energy and rail. Real infrastructure, real AI, not a dashboard demo.
Marcxel
Marcxel, led by Deepak Agarwal, builds agentic AI systems that stitch straight into enterprise workflows, marketing automation, data processing, document extraction, cutting real time and cost out of operations most businesses just accept as manual. Teams in London, Delhi and New York. Genuinely operational AI, not a chatbot bolted onto a website.
Andy MacDonell, The Amplify Hub
Andy runs The Amplify Hub, working Australia-wide with owner-led businesses through his CONTROL framework on the decision most owners avoid: step up, step back, or step out. A Fellow of the Advisory Board Centre and former PwC and BDO partner, he brings the same disciplined-execution mindset to board and governance work.
AGLX
AGLX, led by Steve McCrone, works with large enterprises and government (Chevron, Visa, Toyota and the New Zealand Defence Force among them) on adaptive strategy and leadership under uncertainty, deliberately rejecting generic frameworks in favour of context-specific responsiveness. Consultants based in Virginia Beach and Auckland. A useful contrast to conventional consulting.
Business Excellence Architects
Business Excellence Architects, led by Grant Ford, works NZ-wide, specialising in knowhow management: documenting and systematising what an organisation actually knows so digital transformation and process improvement have something real to build on. Practical groundwork most transformation projects skip.
